With reference to the 3rd paragraph of
secret despatch of the 9th September, I have the honour to forward herewith a translation from the Asun Man Yat Po of the 14th September, (a) of a telegram dated 6th September sent by Marshal Sun Ch'uan-fang to five southern Generals, including General Cheung Kai- shak, and (b) of a telegram dated 7th September sent by Marshal Sun to General Cheung.

A telegram from His Lajesty's Consul- General at Hankow, dated 17th September, reports that Yu-ch'ang is still untaken and that there is fighting near Kuang-shui,as to which town please see paragraph 1 (b) of my secret despatch of 16th September.
