4.-MILK ANALYSES.

No samples were examined for Tuberculosis during the year.

5.-ANTI-RABIC TREATMENT.

Anti-rabic treatment was prepared for 188 persons as against 55 in 1924.

Forty dogs brains were examined for the presence of negri bodies, four only were found to be positive the remainder being negative.

6.—CLINICAL EXAMINATIONS,

The number of specimens examined and reported upon from the various Government Institutions and Private Practitioners was 7,391. These examinations are carried out under the per- sonal supervision of the Government Bacteriologist.

261 miscellaneous specimens were examined.

Eight estimations to ascertain the Carbolic Acid Co-efficient by the Rideal Walker process, were carried out on samples of disinfectants supplied by the Sanitary Department.

8. ANTI-PLAGUE WORK.

Post-mortem examinations were carried out on the bodies of 74,440 rats sent to the Victoria Mortuary for inspection during the year.

Microscopic examinations were carried out at the Bacter- iological Institute in 3,330 cases.

No cases of Plague infected rats were detected during the year.

9. BACTERIOLOGICAL ANALYSES OF WATER.

The mumber of samples examined and reported upon from the public water supplies of the Colony was 590.

The results are given in separate table the minimum standard of purity aimed at being B. C. C. absent from 10 c.c. of water.

The water supplies from the various filter beds was also examined for the information of the water Engineer as often ast possible under present Laboratory conditions.

Special examinations were carried out on eleven filter beds

Eight water samples were examined and reported upon from various places in South China outside the Colony.

10. STOCK VACCINES.

The following doses of stock vaccines were issued to the Navy, Army or Civilian Medical Authorities and Private] Practitioners.

Special Autogenous Vaccines were prepared and issued in 18 of these 15 were for various Government Institutions and 3 for private practitioners in the Colony.

12.-POST-MORTEM EXAMINATIONS AT THE VICTORIA MORTUARY.

The total number of autopsies was 3,568 the results are tabulated in appendix O attached.

13. MEDICO LEGAL WORK.

Special autopsies were carried out and examinations made for medico legal purposes in 67 cases.

34 articles were examined and reported upon for the presence of blood, Spermatozoa &c. for Police evidence.

The necessary expert medico legal evidence in the Supreme Court, Coroner's and Magistrate's Courts was given by the Government Bacteriologist.

14. MALIGNANT DISEASE.

The number of sections of tissues examined and reported upon for Malignant Diseases was 38.
