Dr. J. P. Fehily was the Medical Officer in charge until he went on leave at the end of August. His place was taken by Dr. J. T. Smalley.
Government Dispensary, Kowloon.—The attendances during 1925, amounted to 26,820 as compared with 32,503 in 1924. The diminution is due largely to there being over 4,000 fewer dressings performed.

With reference, to the prevalence of various diseases in the prison, the main diseases would appear to have been Malaria, Influenza, Dysentry, Beri Beri, Opium Habit, Prasitic Skin Disease, Venereal Disease, and Tuberculosis.
Malaria cases may be regarded as mainly recurrences of " disease almost wholly contracted outside the prison walls.
Influenza with 42 enses was prevalent during the year.
Bacillary Dysentry was also in evidence being responsible for almost a third of the total deaths, but comprised, in the main, cases transferred from Lai Chi Kok Prison, for treatment.
Beri Beri shows an increase from 17 cases in 1924, to 23 in 1925. This condition is very common amongst Chinese out- patients, and full allowance must be made for this fact when interpreting this increase as all rice used in the prison is of the red variety.
