Department of the 6th October, I m directed by Mr.Secretary Amery to tranmit to you, to be laid before Secretary Sir Austen Chamberlain, the accompanying copy of a despatch from the Covernor of Hong Kong, enclosing a letter from the Hong Kong, Canton and Macao Steamboat Company Limited, and the China Navigation Company Limited, together with copies of the audited accounts for an the estimated losses on the working of their vessels between Hong Kong and Canton for the period 3rd September 1925 to 20th April, 1926.

2. As Sir Austen Chamberlain will be aware, it was decided at the inter-departmental conference on the 19th April last, that the elains for the period prior to the 20th April 1926, should be reserved for further discussion.
