I have the honour to inform you with reference to my letter H.K.032/2560 of 26th August, 1926, that a reply has now been received to my telegram to His Excellency, the Naval Commander-in-
Chief.
2. He directs that for the present the procedire should be firstly boats concerned in interfering in any way with British ships or passen-
gers going or coming should be seized as on previous occasions, secondly notices should then be sent to Canton Authorities to stop picketing British ships warning them all picket boats so employed would in future be seized, thirdly 24 hours after delivery
of letter all picket boats in any way interfering with British shipping should be seized.
3.
He has further informed me that he does
not wish the seizure of boats in no way interfering with British shipping.
