Reports. Governor James (in forwarding application for promotion to Harbour Master at Barbados or on the East or est Coast of Africa):- "I have now had personal acquaintance with Mr. Ho segood's work, and I have every confidence in recommending him for promotion. If it is not possible for him to obtain the promotion indicated on his application I suggest that if a vacancy occurs in the Straits settlements he might be offered the post of Deputy haster Attendant or Harbour Master of Penang."
