With reference to previous correspondence regarding the situation in Chins, I am directed by Kr.Secretary Amery to transmit to you, to be laid before Secretary Sir Austen Chamberlain, the accompanying copy of two secret despatches from the Governor of Hong Kong, dated the 27th and 28th of June.
2. In the former despatch Sir CiClementi advocates a general readjustment of British policy in Chins on lines which it is understood, have already been under examination in theForeign Office. In the later despatch the Governor urges in particular that the question of continued adherence to the Chins Army Embargo Agreements merits early reconsideration,
