B.- European Officers.

(ii) Vacation Leave.

133.-(1) An officer is eligible for the grant of vacation leave at the rate of one eighth of his resident service

during his current tour of service, that is, the period from

first arrival in the Colony or from return from long leave

to the date of next proceeding on long leave.

(2) Periods spent on vacation leave shall not count as resident service under paragraph (1).

(3) An officer proceeding home on long leave or on

retirement may be granted such vacation leave as he would

be eligible for in respect of his current tour calculated at the above rate after deducting any vacation leave already

granted during that tour; provided that he may not in any

case be granted more than five months vacation leave; and

provided also that the above maximum of five months will be

reduced by the equivalent of any vacation leave taken by an

officer, unless on medical grounds, during the last twelve

months of his tour.

(4) Educational officers are not ordinarily entitled to

vacation leave except during the school vacations.

They may

however be granted vacation leave, up to a maximum period of

five months, when proceeding home on long leave or on

retirement. Such vacation leave, which will not ordinarily

be granted except towards or at the end of a school term,

will be calculated in the marmer described but at the rate

of one-twelfth of resident service which includes school

vacations.
