(ii) In February 1926 the Chief Inspector called upon

Inspector Lanigan to report what men were to be transferred from Central to the New Fire Station

and also what beats could be included in the New

Fire Station area. This report was not furnished until I threatened to cancel Inspector Lanigan's

Passage if it was not furnished within 48 hours.

It was then furnished.

(iv) I called on Divisional Inspector Central (Inspector

Lanigan) to report on possibility of giving up the Hospital Road temporary leased premises (for men from No.8 Station now demolished) by locating them in the huts at the Police Training School. Inspect-

or Lanigan furnished a ridiculous report informing

me that the huts were practically full which a personal inspection has proved to be entirely incorrect.

3. Under the circumstances I feel that Inspector

Lanigan merely wishes to make a convenience of the Police

Force until it suits him to go which arrangement I am by no means inclined to allow. The reasons for this change above will no doubt be furnished to Inspector Lanigan at the same time by the Secretary of State.

31st March, 1926.

(sd.) E. D. C. Wolfe,

Captain Superintendent of Police.
