I have the honour to seknowledge the re-
ceipt of your despatch No.447 of the 9th of December
last and to convey to you my approval, under Section 13
(2) of the Hong Kong and 3hanghai Bank Ordinance, 1866,
of the security offered by the Hong Kong and Shanghai
Banking Corporation, namely, DX Debenture Stock of the
Singapore kunicipality, for their ordinary Note Issue
in substitution for War Loan Bonds .
2. I appoint the trustees msed in the enclosure
to Mr. Churchill's despatch No.32 of the 24th of January,
1922, to receive and hold this security.
