There are three letters here:

(1) An application for further employment.

(2) He says that while in Hong Kong he

addressed a memorial to 8. of S. regarding his

invaliding and his desire for leave to enable

him to recover his health, and also as to the

invaliding of his family.

(3) Bupplements (2) by alleging that the

invaliding is due to the shortage of quarters

in Hong Kong, which resulted in his being

sent to a malarial district. He claims that

he should have been granted 8 months f.p, leave

which he thinks would have secured his recovery

to health.

All we know from Governor is contained

in 22879, which reports the grant of 3 months

17 days leave and states simply that he has

been invalided. We have not had the memorial

which he states he submitted before leaving

the Colony.
