In the circumstances, therefore, we should be glad if the Crown Agents could hold over £46,000 their contribution until the year 1926-27 when, accor ing to the figures approved by the Cabinet, there won be a further expenditure of £306,000 on the progress the work at Singapore.

has been taken on your letter of the 6th March regarding the contribution of £250,000 from Hong Kong towards the

establishment of the Singapore Base.

The Crown Agents have been instructed to make no payment to the admiralty out of the sum of 2250,000 without
