the Government of Ceylon (r.Clementi) to he
Secretary of State for the Colonies dated 7th of August, 1925,
Deliberations of Select Committee on Ceylon
Budget which passed through second reading on July
31st and is now being debated, are likely to be
Until Legislative Council has passed protracted.
Budget it is undesirable that I should leave Ceylon and I suggest doing eo in the first part of
October unless it is necessary for me to be in
Hong Kong earlier.
'Government can be capably administered in the
interval between Sir H. Clifford's arrival and my
departure by Alexander who has acquitted himself
excellently in Budget debates, and in who. I have
full confidence."
