sir,
I am directed by Mr. Secretary Amery to
acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 17th November ( 5525/835/10) and to inform you that he
has no observations to offer on the draft of the
despatch which it is proposed to address to the Britis
Representative on the International Commission which
is to meet in China on December 18th to enquire into
the question of extraterritoriality in China, or on
the draft notes drawn up for the British Commissioner!
guidance. Mr. Amery would wish however, to be repre-
sented at any interdepartmental conference that may be
arranged.
2. The observations of the Dominions Office wil
be communicated to you separately.
