With reference to my despatch No.610 of
the 2nd ultimo relative to the suppression of
piracy in the Canton delts, I have the honour to
transmit to you horewith cooles of three further
de snatches on this subject which I have received
from Pis Vajesty's Vonmil General, Cant on.
You will observe that as a result of the
energy which has been displayed by General Li
No.173 9f Fook-lum, the Goumissioner of "olice for the whole
of the Province of Kwangtung, and of the coopera-
tion between 11a 1ajesty's Naval forces and the
Chinese Military, the situation in the Cant on
delta would appear to have greatly improved. It
