am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to refer to your letter No. 47445/25 of 4th November, forwarding a report of the proceedings at a Conference on wireless telegraphy in Hong Kong held on the

9th September.

2. In this connection I am to acquaint you, for

the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that according to the most recent report received from Commander Watson it appears that the most favourable site for a Remote Control Station at Hong Kong is on Stone- cutters Island on a position formerly occupied by the "Central Battery" recently demolished.

Should the Hong Kong Government desire to instal a transmitter at their own expense in the Naval Station at Stonecutters, there would be no objection from the Admiralty point of view, provided that the power of this set admits of it being operated by the existing
