The River Eteamers stopped running on the
10th July and "TUNG ON" was taken over by the Hong Hong
Government, but manned by a Naval Crew. Up to that time
transport nattere had been very difficult owing to the
fact that staff had been arriving at any time by any ship
and freonantly without any previous signal. With the
"TUNG ON" only running, matters became comparatively
simple.
Kr. E.V. mid was in charge of the Chore
Transport and unloading of ships and I should like to state
here how indebted I am to him for his invaluable and
loyal co-operation. The community of Shameon and all
ships present owe him a large debt of gratitude.
This brings us up to Thursday 16th July,
