General Leung Kun Ngo, in Command of the Saila district kept his word and opened his anti-pérate campaign on9th June near Holohow. "CIGALA" and "ROBIN"
and 2 Armed Launches supported him.
Unfortunately one of the General's officers

was found to be playing a double game and the pilot who was to be on board "ROBIN" deserted and warned the pirates. However, 50 were captured including 12 out of 15 of the
leaders.
The situation in Canton now compelled ne to
recall "OICALA" and "ROBIN".
On her way back, however, "ROBIN" met General Leung and found he had news of a pirate concentration in the Tam Chan Chanel. He asked for permission to remain another day away and co-operate with the General against this band.
This being granted, the pirates' stronghold, which was situated on Fantung Hill off the Tam Chan Channel, was attacked at daylight on the 11th and, after a good deal of shelling, captured and destroyed. about 120 pirates the majority were captured or killed, and a muber of unfortunate captives released.

After this the Canton situation prevented the continuation of co-operation with General Leung but I have since received a letter from him regretting the events in Canton and assuring me of his wish and ability to continue the work as soon as things have quistened down.
