The kitchens at the Government Civil Hospi -tal had become unsatisfactory and required surfacing to the floors and walls, etc.

Required for the new agistracy at Kowloon

Estimates exceeded owing to increase in the Folice Force and the opening of additional stations. Purchase of mosquito nets, etc.

A revote. The accounts were not received in time for payment in 1923.

The cost of the Rescue tug owing to altera. -tions in specification was increased by $5,000 necessitating an additional $1000 for each instalment. This vote covers the first two instalments.

Votes exceeded owing to increase in the numbers of prisoners and opening of two new halls at Lai Chi Kok.

Excess due to increase of vehicular traffic causing greater wear and tear to roads and to increase in cost of labour.
