TERMS OF SETTLEVENT FOR THE PRESENT STRIKE.

(1). Unions to be re-opened. Other societies to be allowed. Freedom of speech in the press. Free- dom of education unhampered by regulations made by the Hongkong Government. All unions closed to be allowed to re-open and their officials to return and resume their jobs. Same legal status for all Chinese in Hongkong irrespective of whether they are British subjects or not. Abolishment of the power of banish- ing Chinese from Hongkong. No beating or hanging to be allowed as penalty.
(2). Chinese members of the Legislative Council to be elected and Labour to be allowed to exercise the vote for this purpose.
(3). Betterment of labour conditions. An eight hour day and a minimum wage. Contracts to be made with the Labour Unions. Child labour conditions to be bettered. Protection to be given to the Guilds against exploitation by others such as Indiana, Phillipinos, etc. Details to be settled with repre- sentatives of labour.
(4). Re-instatement of all employees, whether privately or officially employed. No dismissals for any reason whatever. Hongkong to remove all personal restrictims such as the limit of $5 allowed to be taken out.
(5).Full payment of wages during the period
of the strike.
