FRONTIER INCIDENTS.
Testerday, 27th September, 1925, the Tuen Tai Tean Shop, in British Sha Tau Kok, was again raided by Strikers. At about 11 a.x, on the date in point the master
of the Tuan Tai Taan went to Sha Tau Kok Pelice Station,
and informed Lance Sergeant Knowles that Strikers were again engaged in raiding his shop with the intention of seising
and removing everything therein, including the piga not seized by the Strikers in the first raid.
Lance Sergeants Knowles and Clarke, with 7 Indians, at once preceeded to a point about 600 yards to the rear of Sha Tau Kok Market. mere they observed about 80 scolies, in charge of about 15 armed Strikers, proceeding along the frontier road carrying pigs and bundles done up in matting, with the intention apparently of making for Shan Chun via the Lin Ma Kang Gap. Lance Sergeant Knowles now that it would be impossible for him to open fire on
the escort, as the latter had interspersed themselves
amongst the coolies. However, happening to observe a
Striker at some distance from the main party Lance Sergeant Knowles fired at shot at him, whereupon the main party halted, the escort compelling the ceblies to return with
their leads to Sha Tau Kok,
Some villagers then informed Lance Sergeant
Knowles that a party of Chinese soldiers were posted on the
hill behind Ban Taui Village, within British Territory,
Immediately afterwards a ragged rifle fire was opened on
the Police from this quarter, some 50 rounds in all. Some
of
