carried to an Exchange Account, below-the-line, and that at the close of the year this account was balanced and the resulting profit or loss was carried to Revenue or Expenditure as the case might be. In the year 1922 this "Exchange Account" appeared in the Annual Abstract Account
receipt entry (below-the-line) for an "Adjustment of Bronane as usual but in addition there was a large Account

large amount being apparently carried direct to the Surplus and Deficit Account of the Colony in contravention of Colonial Regulation 345. In the year 1923 the "Exchange Account" disappeared from the Annual Abstract Account and the *Adjustment of Exchange Account" was treated as in the
year 1922.
The information that I now require is;- (a) Why was the "Adjustment of Exchange Account"
introduced in the year 1922 in addition to the
"Exchange Account".
(b) That was the distinction between the *Exchange
Account" and the "Adjustment of Exchange Account" in the year 1922.
(c) Why was the "Exchange Account" discontinued in
the year 1923.
(d) What was the function of the "Adjustment of
Exchange Account" in the year 1923.
(e) What authority exists for the apparent
contravention of Colonial Regulation 345.
