It is my duty and a pleasure as the Hongkong representative of our Organisation, to thank you most sincerely for the Government's interest and help in our recent predicament. The kindness and courtesy evidenced in the offer of the Stanley, as well as the splendid spirit of the officials with whom we came in contact, is deeply appreciated.
You will be interested to know that the
U.S. Destroyer "Simpson" is at present at Youngkong, endeavoring to ascertain the reason for the disappearance of the two priests who accompanied the "Stanley", and to bring back safely, if possible, the six Maryknoll Sisters
who have been there.
On last evening six more of the Maryknoll Sisters arrived from Tak Hing, and they reported a courteous offer of help from the Commander of the British boat patroll. 1 ing the West River. The boat which conveyed the Sisters, the "Kwong Ying" was marmed by British seamen because ɗ the strike at Wuchow and was accompanied safely to Sam Shui by
the H..S. "Moorhen".
