Should the foundations of the quay wall at Marine
Lot# 450 à 431, North Point, be constructed in accordance
with är. Duncan's design, there is considerable doubt as to
their permanent stability. Pending expert advies on this
matter, an alternative design of foundations has been
adopted.
2. The green line II shown on Drawing f† - ▲
indicates the location of the quay wall under construction
at Marine Lete 450 ₺ 431, North Point, Betails in regard
to current observations taken during flood and sbb tide in
the vicinity of the works are shown in red and blue colours
respectively.
3. Drawing - B is a plan of the above marine lots
and shows the positions on which bering and pricking were
taken in order to obtain information regarding the nature
of the Harbour Betten.

Sections of the bores are show and deseribed on
Drawing - C. The nature of the material penetrated is
similar to that obtained from bores in other portions of 22 the harbour, samples of which were forwarded to the Harbour
Development Consulting Engineers in 1922. The method of
describing these samples has been followed in the descript-
ions en plan. The prickings represent the depths reached
by a norten point 3" x 3" when 5 blows of 100 Row. monkey
dropped 5′ feet caused a penetration of 1 inch. The depths
to which dredging operations have been carried out along
the length of the trench new dredged are alse shown on this
plan. Decomposed granite is found over the entire width of
the bottom of the dredged trenches, with the exception of two short lengths, where boulders are overlying and partially
embedded
