This question was considered by the Oversea Defence Oormittae at their 270th Meeting held on 15th July, 1926:- The Committee agreed:-
To take note of the despatch from the Governor dated 30th June, 1995, in which it was stated in paragraph 9 that the Governor considered that the supplies at any moment in the Colony, or readily obtainable, are sufficient to provide for the needs of the population for any period that it could possibly hold out against an attack, but recommend that the Colonial Office should request the Governor to prepare for consideration by the Committee a scheme for the collection, storage and distribution of essential food-stuffe as will be available when a crisis aris98.
