Sir,
I have the honour to inform Your Excellency
that on the receipt of your despatch No.134 in 11/1915 of
the 7th instant, I sent a member of my staff to see Mr. Chow
Wen Pang, Director of Telegraphs and ascertain his attitude
with regard to General Lung Chi-kuang's attempt to transfer the Hongkong manager to Canton. Mr. Chow stated that on
receipt of the news he had immediately instructed Mr. Mark
to remain at his post, and he disapproved of any interference
with the Telegraph Administration by the Provincial Author-
ities.
His Excellency
Sir Henry May, K.C.M.G.,
etc..
etc.,
etc.
