Suggested emendations of existing regulations as
follows:-
Regulation 1. Omit the words

far as is practicable in the circumstances”.
Regulation 5. Amend so as to relieve engineer
officers from carrying loaded revolvers when in the engine rooms,
Regulation 10. Delete "er barbed wire". Regulation 11. Substitute "The protected portions of the bridge and boat decks shall be protected
from access from below".
Regulation 15. Delete "other than the access refer-
red to in Regulation 17".
Regulation 19. Amend so as to enable the Harbour
Master to insist on additional structural work
as a condition of the grant of modifications.
Begulation 21. (a) Delete the words "settled by the Committee" and substitute "as approved by the
Harbour Master".
(b) Delete last sentence and substitute
"Every master shall be well acquainted with
and shall carry out the scheme of defence
of his ship, etc."
