Your Letter to Mr. R. G. Mcswan, 109 stratmartine

Rosa, Dunase dated 18th inet. has been naduéu to me anu Mr.

McEwan ǹas consulted me regaruing the matter referred to 14

that letter. I wasa to press the matter a little further re:

:garding the amount or pension awarded to my client by the

Colonial Government. This matter came up for aiscussion so

far back as July, 1912 and in a letter over the Signature

"L. Harcourt ", qated uzta July, 1812 alrecteu from Downing

street to sir. F. A. Hay, the then Governor at rong kong, The

point was decided in these words "I have the nonour to Boмnow:

"ledge the receipt of Mr. severn's ulspyton 285 of 18th June

"with regard to the pension for which Mr. R.. McEwan will be

"eligible on his retiremeat sau to inform you that I concur
