Dear Fletcher,
Many thanks for your letter about your
movements.
I have discussed with Collins the question
of your expenses and I am afraid the conclusion wo
have reached is that you could not properly clai
expenses to cover Mrs Fletcher's visit. ben
Haobldetty went to Geneva he was paid by the League,
as he was employed in the Secretariat for some time ir preparing a summary of the replies to the
Questionnaire. When he went to Bangkok it is true
that his wife's travelling expenses were paid, but
that was because he was obliged to go out of his
way with her, on his way back to Hong Kong.
As I promised, I put to Collins your
request that a telegram should be sent to the Governor about his leave. As you are aware,Grindle
has had a private letter from Stubbs which it is
difficult
