These two important items of public works and others of

considerable magnitude are all in their initial stage of pro-

jection or construction; and there can be no doubt that the

experience of Sir Edward Stubbs is essential to their satis-

factory and speedy completion.

venture once more, with the greatest respect, to urge our

petition that you may be pleased to recommend to His Most

Gracious Majesty The King that the term of office of our present

Governor may be extended,
