I am directed to acknowledge the receipt of Colonial Office letter of the 25th Ultimo, requesting the Elder Brethren to recommend a further candidate for appointment as Light Fouse Keeper in the service of the Colonial Office at Hong Kong consequent on the withdrawal of the application of H. Fishburn for the post.

In reply I am to submit for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, the name of R. Roskruge, Assistant Keeper, as suitable for this appointment.

Roskruge who is 29 years old (born 31st August 1894) entered the Trinity House Service on 23rd April 1914 and is married having only an adopted daughter aged 18 years.

This Keeper does not possess any special knowledge

of Wireless Telegraphy or the diaphone, but is recommended a

He is the only being generally an efficient Light Keeper. Keeper, other than Fishburn, within the limits of age prescribed who has volunteered for the appointment.

I am to request therefore that you will inform me whether it is desired that Roskruge should present himself at your Department for approval, and also whether he is to be specially medically examined.
