north of this. All the buildings have communicating covered ways, and the hostels are arranged as far as possible around the dining hall, The hostels are arranged in each case aromd an open court and the western wings are protected by verandahs. The remaining hostels, sports pavilion, ground- smen's quarters, are show as future extensions.
THE SITE.
No detailed survey of the site being available it might be found advisable to make many changes in the lay out suggested after a detailed survey has been prepared. The nature of the ground is likely to render any extensive schem of levelling and site formation an expensive undertaking, although in order to obtain a satisfactory proposal it seems desirable to form new sites on the south east, and also to excavate and level certain areas on the south and east sides of the old parade ground in order to form a good playing field and running track, The position show for the Chapel is an attractive one from the fact that it forme a central feature on the highest ground, but this again involves the formation of a new site m rocky ground. Additional playing fields would involve levelling, and the most suitable ares appears to be that shown on the plan to the south east of
the site.
Should the Government be unwilling to provide access to the main entrance show on the east in the form of a metalled motor road to the point marked "F" on the plan, we should perhaps ask for an additional area in the direction marked A-B-C-D-F-G-H in order to enable the building of this road to be carried out in the future.
There appear to be several rights of way across the site to the cultivated ground on the south east, and also to the Military Cemetery, and to the small temple to the south west of the site.
