34 December, 1923,
with reference to my telagram of the 21st of December in which i informed you that I had offered sa appointment as Assistant master, subastion Department to a candidate mused laxilton in Canada, I have the honour to enclose for your information, ceples of a report made to me by my Assistant Private Secretary for Appointmenta, Major F. D. Purse, R.3.0., on a tour of the Canadien Universities which he made in 1922.

The object of this tour was to set up, senjunction with the Canadian authorities, the requi si te- machinery to facilitate the annual entry of a few picked graduates of the Canadian Universities into various branches of the Colonial Service.
