The former application was made
in 1913, but no difference has been made
by the British Nationality and Status of
Aliens Act 1914, with regard to the grant
of Letters of Denization, section 25 of
that Act reproducing section 13 of the
Naturalization Act, 1870, with the result
that the right to grant such letters is
still preserved. In practice however
for a long time past it has been very
seldom, if ever, exercised and must be
regarded as having been practically entirely
superseded by Imperial naturalization.
