The former application was made

in 1913, but no difference has been made

by the British Nationality and Status of

Aliens Act 1914, with regard to the grant

of Letters of Denization, section 25 of

that Act reproducing section 13 of the

Naturalization Act, 1870, with the result

that the right to grant such letters is

still preserved. In practice however

for a long time past it has been very

seldom, if ever, exercised and must be

regarded as having been practically entirely

superseded by Imperial naturalization.
