He should be a fully qualified navigating officer and have held a commission either in the Royal Navy or Royal Naval Reserve, He is the adviser to Goverment on all shipping matters and nas full responsib ility for all Government launches, the moorings and buoys in the Harbour, and all lights, lighthouses and signal stations around the Colony, Hồ is in addition the Shipping Master, of the Mercantile Marine Orvice, Registrar of Shipping and Principal Braminer for Board of Trade Examinations. He will preside at all Marine Courts of Enquiry. le is also Deputy Superintendent of Water Police," Gevemment Coaling Offier and in charge of the Government Can- powder Depot.
£1,160 per annum rising by annual increments of 850 to £1,350, The salary is payable in dollars in accordance with Government Regulations.
Rented quarters er rent allowance in accordance with Government Regulations. A rent of 6% of the officer's salary 18 charged for unfurnished quarters (plus 1% for heavy turniture it supplied) and if quarters are not available, an officer is on certain conditions permitted to rent a house, himselt paying 6% or salary and the remainder of the rent being payable by Hovernment. ▲ conveyance allowance of 1120 is given.
