Chairman of the Colombo Fert C.ommission, in recommending

his promotion to the ṛæstof Master Attendant reported

as follow#;= *Lieutenant Commander @.F.Hale assumed

duties here in April, 1916, after being invalided from

the Navy, and in 1917 he undertook the mine wweeping

servise of this pert under very trying direunstanees.

He has on various socasiona seted as kaster Attendant,

and whether in this sapasity or as Mine Breeping

officer he has shown energy, tant and discretion, as

well as administrative ability. He has now completely

Renovered from the effects of his war servios, owing to

which he was invalided, and appears to enjoy robust

health,"
