OWNERS PUT OUT OF COURT.
APPARENT INJUSTICE.
The effect of this Ordinance was to put out of Court the test case, the proceedings in which had been stayed at the request of Hongkong Government only to enable the Government to sub- mit a compromise settlement
The Owners by relying naturally on the good faith and straight dealing of HM Government appear to have lost their right at court to proceed with an un- doubtedly good claim for the profits of the ships commandeered by the Hong- kong Government.
FAIR DEALING AND CONSIDERATION.
On the above facts a clear case exists for: -
1. Investigation by H.M. Government 2. Representation by H.M. Government to the Hongkong Government that a compromise settlement should be arrived at.
