I hear A.E. Zimmera is rather anxious to be considered for the Vice Chancellorship of Hong Kong University which falls vacant next spring. I do not know if you know him personally, though I expect you
He belongs to New College and was a pretty active member of the" Round Table" group later on. He has written a good deal including one admirable book on Nationalism and its exaggerations which appeared during the war, and a rather exaggerated and captious book about things since the war, written very much from the French point of view against L.G. This latter phase may have been due to his marrying
a French wife and he may have returned to a more even keel since. But certainly he is an able fellow and might do well out there.
