3. Regulations Nos.49 to 73 specify the proceedings which are taken in & Colony
when it is deemed pecessary to suspend an
officer with a view to his removal from
the service; but you must also understand that you will hold the appointment subject to the pleasure of the Crown, and that
the pleasure of the Crown that you should no longer hold it may be signified through the Secretary of State, in which case no
special formalities are required.

If you ar prepared to accept
the appointment, you should present your-
self to one of the medical advisors of
this Department, whose nydes are given on the enclosed letter, for the purpose of
being medically examined. The lottor is to be left with him; and you will be re- quired to pay him a fee of one and a half
guineas. He will send his report direct
this Department.
