Lord,

With reference to my dempatok No. 2762 of August 27th last, and to previous sorrespondence r-arding the treatment of British subjects of Asistio race by the French anthorities at Ɛmigon, I transmit to Your Lordship berewith a copy of a furtner despatch on the subject fro› kin injesty's Consul- General at paigon,

2.

As this despaton confirms the fact that the French authorities` refuse to accord British subjects of asiatis race the same treatment in matters of immigration as is accorded to Japanese or Philippines, although there is no legal impediment to the abolition of this discrimination, I shall be glad if you will now mace representations

to the French wovernaent, pointing out the injustice of the present practice and the ease with which it could be remedied am laying special stress on the fact that arities subjects of Aslatie race are no less british subjects taun any others, and that His Majguty'a Government expect them to be treated no worse than other Asiation who are subjects of Japan or of the United States,
