made by vra Yap Tuan 560, widow of the late British sub- ject Tan Ang Yəng, den erning the birth of her son Tan
Lu Tak, who is now more than seven years old, and to re-
quest your instructions sa to whether the birth of Tan Lu Tek may be registered in the Register Book of Birth s

been registered in this Office as a British subject; and
she explains that being ignorant of the necessity of so
registering herself, she has made no application to be
registered. That Administration of the state of Tan
Eng Yong was granted to her as the lawful widow of the deceased would seem to show that her British nationality
was accepted at the time of her husband's decease.
I have, etc,,
