With reference to Foreign Office letter 11021/595/
310 of the 14th December last, I am directed by the
Marqueas Curzon of Kedleston to transmit herewith copies
of further correspondence with his liajesty's Minister at
Feking regarding. the registration and protection of
British subjects of Chinese descent in China.

Subject to the Duke of Devonshire's concurrence,
Lord Curzon proposes to sprove the instructions sent by
His Majesty's Minister at Feking to His Majesty's consul
at Amoy on the 20th September last regarding the case of
Tan Ju-Tek and other similar claimants to British status,
and as regards persons of Chinese rece who are natives of
British protectorates or mandated territories or who
hold Imperial certificates of British naturalisation.
