HONGKONG. 19th October, 1923.
I have the honour to inform Your Grace that provision has been made in the Estimates for 1924 for three additional Second Class Sanitary Inspectore which have become necessary on account of the expansion of the Colony and the consequent creation of new Health Districts. Subject to Your Grace's approval of the Estimates I should be glad if the Crown Agents could be instructed to select candidates early so that they can arrive as soon after the beginning of the year as possible.
2. In my despatch No.99 of the 5th March, 1921, particulars are given of the nature of the qualifications required and I would refer you also to my despatch No.52 of the 3rd February, 1923.
3.
Charles Strange, a brother of Inspector Strange of the Sanitary Department is at present studying sanitation in England and is considered as likely to be a suitable candidate. I should be glad therefore if the Crown Agents would comunicate with him in the matter, his address being c/o A. Strange, Savoy Hotel, London, W.C.
