I am directed to forward for your information a copy of e

despatch addressed to the Secretary of State for the Colonies,

relating to the pension of Dr. J. T.

Johnson.

Dr. Johnson was paid up to and including 30th June, 1923, He is therefore entitled to receive pay from the 1st July, 1923, up to the date of his retirement, the 4th February, 1924. It should be noted that from 1st to 6th July he is entitled to be paid at the privileged rate of dollers 12 £1 which should be converted into sterling at the rate of the day. From the 7th July inclusive he

should be paid in sterling.

the cost

Dr. Johnson was advanced the sum of £150 towards of his expenses in Australia and of his passage to England from Australia. He has been instructed to account to you for this s'm and I am to request you to be so good es to adjust any credit or

debit balance due by or to him.

I should be glad also to be informed whether Dr. Johnson desires to continue his contribution to the Widows and Orphans'

Pensions.

In the event of his wishing to cease such contribution the sum due to him viz. 50% of the payments made by him will be calculated and notified to you for payment to him.

Copy of his Leave Certificate is enclosed.
