The figures for (1) - (6) are taken from the 1921 Census returns. There are no figures available to indicate how far they are applicable at the present time, though in a recent despatch the Governor of ilong Kong reported that the Chinese population of the country is rapidly increasing, and he estimates the total Chinese population of the Colony to be now about 706,000.

"Adult Males" For Hong Kong and the Straits Settlements and the Kalay States the figures include all Chinese males of 20 years of age and upwarda, In the Census reports the numbers are given in age groups of 5 years thus: 20-24, 25-29 and so on. It is therefore not possible to give figures of 21 years and upwards.
