Be it enacted by the Governor Of Hongkong, with the adrice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, a9
follows:-
1.
This Ordinance may be cited as the Deportation
Amendment Ordinance, 1923, and shall be read and construed
we one with the Deportation Ordinance, 1917, and with the Deportation Ordinance, 1921, and the said Ordinances and this Ordinance may be cited together as the Deporta- tion Ordinaness, 1917 to 1923.
2, (1) Whenever under the provisions of the China Order in Council, 1923, any person is to be com eyed for trial or impressment, or by way of deportation, to any place,
and it is necessary to tranship such person at Hongkong, it shall be lawful for the Governor to require the master of any British ship to accept such person as a passenger for the purpose of such conveyance.
(2) The master shall be entitled to remover from the Colonial Treasurer reasonable remuneration in respect of
the said pannage.
(2) If any master of a British ship refuses to accept any/person as a passenger vien so required he shall be liable upon summary conviction to a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars,
