The Unit of one taminng is also in use in British Malaya (Straits Settlements and Federated Malay States) and Java, where it is designated as a "tanil" or "tael", with a weight of a little over 38 grams. In Siam this weight has been adjusted to correspond to the weight of 10 salungs or 211⁄2 ticals-37.5 grams.
In Burma one tola = 10 grams approximately. In Formosa 1 momшue 4 grams approximtely. One tamlung is divided into 100 hoons.
