REC REG? 3 JUN221

S 1.7.

1 June 1922.

It having come to my knowledge that officers in receipt of pensions from the Colony of Hongkong have had such pensions temporarily increased by 25 %, I have the honour to apply for a similar increase to the pension from that Colony granted to me in August 1920, and, as I am informed that this increment was originated prior to that date, that I may receive it as from the

day upon which my pension commenced.

2.

I can only suppose that the failure to include the

temporary increment in my case was due to an oversight.

3. I may, perhaps, be permitted to remark that the pension

of which I am now in receipt, after forty years of Government ser- vice, amounts to but £380 a year, after deduction of income tax.

1 have the honour to be

Sir,

your obedient servant

Basil Daylow

Under Secretary of State

Colonial Office.
