Letter Received by His Excellency the Chancellor

from H. R. H. the Prince of Wales.

Tokyo, 14th April, 1922.

The Prince of Wales desires me to express to your Excellency as Chancellor of the University of Hongkong, His Royal Highness's gratification at the news that the Rockefeller Foundation of New York have definitely promise the sum of halt a million Hongkong dollars for the endowment of full time chairs in medicine and surgery on certain con- ditions.

Though the Prince, as the University's newest honorary graduate feels some diffidence in writing on the subject, His Royal Highness earnestly trusts that the generosity of friends of the University will enable these conditions to be fulfilled so as to obtain the grant which the Rockefeller Foundation so liberally
