Dear Grindle,
You will remember our correspondence as to letting the Secretariat of the League of Nations have the services of one of our officials from the Far East in examining and digesting the material sent in by the different Governmenta in reply to the League of Nations questionnaire on the subject of dangerous drugs. You were thinking at one time of MacElderry, but in your note to me of the 4th Jamary you I have now said you were afraid he would not be available. received a letter from the Secretariat, of which I enclose a copy, and shall be glad to know if there is any chance of getting MacElderry, or if not, whether there is anybody else
you can suggest.
Mr. Philip Baker, who is in charge of the Opium Section of the Secretariat at Geneva, is in tom till tomorrow. If you could let me have any sugestions in the course of today, it would be very convenient.
Sir Gilbert Grindle, K.C.M.G., C.B.
Yours sincerely,
Makolen Selevang
